UWE Bristol is one of the leading public sector institutions in the UK for research and education. The department of Computer Science and Creative Technologies conducts world-class research in Artificial Intelligence, unconventional computing, large scale distributed systems, big data processing, management and analytics. The Centre for Complex Cooperative Systems (CCCS), which this project will belong to, undertakes applied, collaborative computer science research with industrial enterprises and international research institutions in the fields of large-scale distributed systems, data and process management, and data analytics. CCCS has more than 20 years of working experience in a series of EC FP6, FP7 and H2020 projects, including Health-e-Child, HUMBOLDT, UrbanAPI, DECUMANUS, MammoGrid, neuGRID, CRISTAL-ISE and SMARTICIPATE.
In the DEVELOP project, the jointed team from UoB and UWE will bring in their expertise in social network analysis and AI planning. They will lead WP3 on Social Network Analysis and AI Planning to develop novel machine learning techniques to analyse workplace social networking data to assess social capital and AI planning algorithms for use in guiding learners towards realistic and attainable career paths.
